The Israeli Defense Forces disclosed that 48 officers and soldiers sustained injuries during intense fighting with Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon over the past day. This update comes amid Israel's ongoing ground operations aimed at neutralizing Hezbollah infrastructure near the border.

According to reports citing military statements, the total number of Israeli soldiers killed since the escalation with Hezbollah stands at 10, with more than 300 wounded, including the latest 48 casualties. The recent injuries occurred as Israeli troops pushed deeper into southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah has mounted fierce resistance using anti-tank missiles, drones, and ambushes.

Just days earlier, four Israeli soldiers were killed and others wounded in close-quarters combat in the region, marking a significant spike in ground casualties. The IDF has confirmed these losses while continuing airstrikes on Hezbollah command centers, including a strike in Beirut that eliminated senior commanders.

Israel launched its ground incursion into southern Lebanon in recent weeks to dismantle Hezbollah's rocket launch sites and military positions, which have targeted northern Israeli communities since early in the broader regional conflict. Hezbollah, backed by Iran, has claimed responsibility for numerous attacks, including 30 operations against Israeli forces in a single day.

Lebanese health authorities report over 1,200 people killed in the country since the fighting intensified, with dozens more dying in recent Israeli strikes on Beirut and southern areas. Two UN peacekeepers were also killed in the south, prompting international concern.

The IDF has warned Lebanese civilians to evacuate areas under Hezbollah control, emphasizing that operations target only terrorist infrastructure. As clashes persist into Wednesday evening, both sides report heavy fighting along the border, with Israel vowing to press forward until security threats are eliminated.
