American Airlines is launching special centennial-themed in-flight dining menus to commemorate its 100th anniversary, offering passengers a taste of aviation history on select routes.
Beginning Feb. 9, travelers will be able to preorder the limited-time dishes, with the menus appearing in March on select international and transcontinental flights in American’s Flagship First and Flagship Business cabins. Domestic First Class service will be added in April.
The commemorative menu features appetizers such as prawn cocktail and Waldorf salad, with additional selections, including caviar with blinis and a deviled egg topped with crème fraîche, scheduled to debut in April. On select long-haul domestic routes, First Class passengers will also be offered a Boursin cream cheese dip.
Entrées reflect a 1920s-inspired theme, including beef Wellington with roasted vegetables and asparagus topped with béarnaise sauce, as well as chicken Florentine roulade served with mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce. Dessert offerings will include items such as pecan tarts.
“Our centennial year is a chance to reflect on how far we’ve come,” said Rhonda Crawford, American’s senior vice president of Customer Experience Design and Strategy. “These menus celebrate the flavors that defined the early days of American Airlines in a way that feels special and memorable for today’s travelers.”
The dining rollout is part of a broader anniversary campaign planned throughout 2026. The airline said it intends to introduce additional commemorative items, including limited-edition amenity kits, pajamas, and other themed initiatives.
The throwback offerings also tap into nostalgia for an earlier era of commercial aviation, when air travel was known for spacious seating and formal meal service. American Airlines said the menus will be available for a limited time, giving passengers an opportunity to experience a nod to nearly a century of airline history.
