Elon Musk's America PAC launched a series of political advertisements on Tuesday targeting Democratic candidates in competitive Senate races, focusing on transgender issues including participation in women's sports and medical procedures for minors.
The 30-second spots air in Texas, Ohio, and Iowa, states viewed as pivotal for control of the Senate in the November midterms. The ads accuse the Democratic nominees of supporting policies that allow biological males to compete in female sports categories and backing taxpayer funding for gender-related medical interventions on children.
In Texas, the ad criticizes Texas State Representative James Talarico, who is running against Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton. It highlights a clip of Talarico discussing gender and claims he supports multiple genders along with specific votes on sports and medical policies. Talarico's campaign has disputed the characterizations, stating he opposes gender-reassignment surgery for minors and sought to amend legislation on sports participation.

Similar messaging targets former Senator Sherrod Brown in Ohio, who is challenging appointed Republican Senator Jon Husted, as well as Democrat Josh Turek in Iowa. The ads frame the issues around protecting women's sports and limiting medical transitions for minors.

Musk has authorized America PAC to spend at least $100 million in the coming midterms to support Republican candidates, with the current blitz marking an early use of those resources. Republicans currently hold majorities in both chambers of Congress but face the risk of key losses in swing states this cycle.
The effort aligns with broader spending plans by the super PAC in multiple battleground states, including additional field operations and advertising.
