Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson didn’t hold back in criticizing the NFL for selecting Bad Bunny as the halftime performer at this year’s Super Bowl, calling the league “one of the most corrupt organizations” and accusing it of prioritizing money over American fans.
“I just don’t. I don’t see why they chose that. The NFL does stuff that baffles your mind. So, they’ll do anything for money,” Dickerson told TMZ. “I thank God I had a chance to play in the National Football League. But as an entity, the NFL is one of the most corrupt organizations it is.”
Dickerson also questioned why the league didn’t pick a performer with ties to the host city. “Look, why don’t we get somebody from right here, from home? How about someone from right here in San Francisco, all these artists right here in the area to play at the Super Bowl? Somebody who speaks English, you know?”
He expressed confusion over the decision to feature a Spanish-language performance. Conservatives across the country have echoed similar concerns, citing worries about “woke” messaging on the NFL’s biggest stage.
Meanwhile, the Trump-aligned “All-American” halftime show, headlined by Kid Rock, is set to air concurrently, with White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirming that President Donald Trump will be watching.
Dickerson, a six-time Pro Bowler, made it clear he sees the NFL’s choice as a reflection of the league’s ongoing focus on profit over patriotism and fan loyalty.
