Dutch police are investigating a small explosion that struck outside the Israel Center in Nijkerk, a town in central Netherlands, late Friday night. The blast, caused by an explosive device placed by an individual dressed in black, resulted in limited damage to the building around 11:30 p.m. local time, but no one was injured.

The facility belongs to Christians for Israel, a charity that operates the center as an importer and retailer of Israeli products. In a statement on its website, the group expressed shock at the incident, noting that "the damage was limited, but the impact is significant." It described the attack as part of a pattern targeting Jewish and pro-Israel sites to sow fear, especially poignant on the eve of Easter, Christianity's most important celebration.

Police confirmed the device was placed by a person in black clothing and appealed for witnesses via social media, but no arrests have been made. Investigators cautioned it was too early to determine a motive, with the probe ongoing Saturday.

The incident fits into a broader wave of attacks on Jewish and pro-Israel targets across Europe since the U.S.-Israel war against Iran began in late February. Recent examples include an explosion at a Jewish school in Amsterdam last month that damaged a rain pipe and charred an outer wall, with no injuries; an explosive device at a synagogue in Rotterdam, leading to the arrest of four young men aged 17 to 19; and blasts outside synagogues in Liège, Belgium, and Rotterdam. Other incidents involved torched ambulances run by Jewish volunteers in north London and a burned car in Antwerp, Belgium.

Some attacks have been claimed by a little-known Islamist group with possible Iranian links, heightening concerns over antisemitism amid the Middle East conflict. Israel's Ambassador to the Netherlands, Zvi Aviner Vapni, commented on social media: "First, Jews were intimidated and attacked in the Netherlands. Now Christians who support Israel are being targeted, too. This explosion at the Christenen voor Israël center in Nijkerk is not an isolated incident: these criminals must be captured."

Authorities in the Netherlands and neighboring countries have increased security around Jewish and pro-Israel sites following these events. The Nijkerk explosion underscores rising tensions spilling over from the ongoing war, prompting calls for stronger action against those inciting violence.
