A Frontier Airlines flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Chicago O’Hare International Airport was diverted to Miami International Airport on Sunday night after a passenger became disruptive and allegedly tried to open emergency doors mid-flight.

The incident occurred on Flight 3345, which departed San Juan and was forced to land in Miami around 11:55 p.m. local time after the crew reported the disturbance. Law enforcement boarded the aircraft and removed the passenger, allowing the flight to continue to Chicago a few hours later.

Passenger Josh Longood, who was on board, posted photos and videos showing the man restrained across several seats. Longood said the individual attacked a flight attendant and attempted to open the emergency doors before being subdued. He reportedly slipped out of his restraints at one point, forcing Longood to physically hold him down until the plane landed safely.

The identity of the disruptive passenger has not been released, and authorities have not confirmed whether he was arrested or what charges he may face. The FAA said the incident remains under investigation.

No injuries to passengers or crew were reported.
