Nearly 55 million passengers traveled through Harry Reid International Airport in 2025, setting a record for the airport’s third-highest annual total. Officials credited improvements such as updated TSA wait-time displays, a new airport website, and additional lounges for maintaining steady air travel.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported that only 38.5 million people visited the city last year, a 7.5% decrease from 2024. Total occupancy averaged 80.3%, the daily room rate was $196.54, and convention attendance totaled 5,988,200. These figures remain below the 2019 peak of 42.5 million visitors.
Officials and industry leaders pointed to reduced Canadian tourism and the effects of international trade policies as key factors in the decline. Some hotel operators, including Circa Resort & Casino, launched promotions aimed at Canadian travelers, but owners reported declines of 20% to 50% in certain months.
Rising costs for visitors also contributed to lower attendance, with travelers increasingly sensitive to higher prices for basic services and amenities. Industry sources note that even routine expenses, like bottled water, are prompting pushback from guests.
City and hospitality officials warn that the decline presents challenges for casinos and other leisure-driven businesses that rely heavily on tourism spending, putting pressure on operators to adjust strategies for attracting both domestic and international visitors.
