Rapper Lil Tjay was arrested Monday night in connection with a shooting that injured fellow rapper Offset outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The incident occurred in the valet area after 7 p.m. on April 6, when a fight broke out and escalated to gunfire.

Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he remains stable and under observation. A spokesperson for the 34-year-old former Migos member confirmed he is receiving medical care.

Seminole Police responded immediately, containing the situation quickly with no threat to the public. Officers arrested Lil Tjay, real name Tione Jayden Merritt, on charges of disorderly conduct-affray, a first-degree misdemeanor under Florida Statute 870.01, referring to a public fight. He also faced a charge for operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license. Bonds were set at $500 for the disorderly conduct charge and $2,500 for the traffic violation. Lil Tjay was booked into Broward County Jail late Monday and later bonded out.

A second individual was detained at the scene but not charged, and the investigation continues as police seek additional information.

Lil Tjay's attorney, Dawn M. Florio, issued a statement denying any involvement in the shooting. "Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting," she wrote on Instagram. "Any reporting to the contrary is false." No charges related to the shooting have been filed against the 24-year-old Bronx rapper.

The altercation comes amid prior tensions between the two artists. In early 2025, Lil Tjay accused Offset of having a gambling addiction during a livestream, claiming the Atlanta rapper was "broke" and owed him money. Rumors circulated online suggesting the dispute involved a $10,000 debt tied to gambling, though neither side confirmed specifics publicly at the time.

Social media buzz intensified after Lil Tjay's release from custody, with reports of him calling Offset a "rat." Seminole Police have not released further details on the shooter or motive as the probe remains active.
