Rep. Mary Miller has won the Republican primary for Illinois’ 15th Congressional District, defeating challengers Judy Bowlby and Ryan Tebrugge to secure renomination. Miller, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump, easily carried the primary contest and will advance to the November general election.
Miller represents a district that spans much of central Illinois, covering a wide rural region including communities throughout the state’s agricultural belt. First elected to Congress in 2020, Miller has built a national profile among conservative voters as a strong supporter of Trump and a member of the House Freedom Caucus.
The congresswoman and her husband operate a fourth-generation family farm raising cattle, corn, and soybeans near Oakland. She previously graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in business management and later completed graduate coursework in education.
Two Republicans challenged Miller in the primary race. Judy Bowlby, a retired government affairs manager with a background in clinical psychology, ran on a message focused on bipartisan cooperation and economic policy affecting rural communities. Ryan Tebrugge, a state worker and small-business owner from Petersburg, campaigned on local economic development, energy policy, and immigration enforcement.
Despite the opposition, Miller maintained strong support among Republican voters across the district and won the nomination comfortably. With the district heavily Republican, she enters the general election as the clear favorite to secure another term in Congress.
