Global music superstar Nicki Minaj appeared alongside President Donald J. Trump at the U.S. Treasury’s Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., celebrating the launch of a new national savings initiative aimed at helping American families build long-term wealth. Minaj praised the program, declared herself the president’s “number one fan,” pledged between $150,000 and $300,000 to support Trump Accounts for her fans’ newborn children, and publicly reaffirmed her support for Trump amid ongoing criticism.
The Trump Accounts program, officially rolled out in early 2026, provides every child born in the United States between 2025 and 2028 with a $1,000 government-seeded investment account. The funds are invested in high-growth American companies and designed to grow tax-free. Parents or guardians may contribute up to $5,000 annually, with the money accessible at age 18 for approved uses such as higher education, purchasing a first home, or starting a small business.
Enrollment for the accounts is completed through annual tax filings at trumppaccounts.gov. Administration officials say the program is intended to promote financial literacy, long-term investing, and generational wealth creation.
Minaj took the stage at the summit to loud applause, calling the initiative “a game-changer for families” and praising President Trump’s economic vision. She announced she would personally commit between $150,000 and $300,000 to match seed deposits for Trump Accounts opened for newborn children of her fans, giving what she called the next generation of “Barbz” an early financial advantage.
During her remarks, Minaj also revealed a custom “Trump Gold Card” gifted to her by the president, holding it up as a symbol of her support and appreciation.
Addressing criticism directly, Minaj offered an unapologetic defense of Trump.
“I am the president’s number one fan. That will not change,” she said. “The hate actually motivates me to support him even more.”
She added that Trump has “force behind him” and said she believes “God is protecting him,” before criticizing what she described as bullying and smear campaigns aimed at the president.
Minaj, who has been a permanent U.S. resident for years and is in the final stages of completing her American citizenship, said her decision to speak out was driven by personal conviction and frustration with what she views as dishonest attacks against Trump.
