President Donald Trump on Saturday called on Netflix to remove Susan Rice from its board of directors after she suggested that corporations and institutions could face consequences under a future Democratic administration. Rice, who sits on the board of Netflix, made the remarks during a podcast interview discussing what she described as an “accountability agenda.”
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump criticized Rice directly. “Netflix should fire racist, Trump Deranged Susan Rice, IMMEDIATELY, or pay the consequences. She’s got no talent or skills. Purely a political hack! HER POWER IS GONE, AND WILL NEVER BE BACK. How much is she being paid, and for what???” he wrote.
Rice, who previously served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and national security adviser under former President Barack Obama, made the comments during a podcast hosted by former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara. She argued that corporations, media companies, law firms, and universities that “take a knee” to Trump should not expect Democrats to “forgive and forget” if political power shifts. Rice suggested such entities could face subpoenas or other forms of scrutiny.
Her comments drew criticism from conservative figures, including Laura Loomer, who accused Rice of endorsing “weaponized lawfare” against political opponents. Loomer also called on Trump and Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr to scrutinize Netflix’s pending $72 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery.
