President Donald J. Trump officially endorsed Jon Bonck for the Republican primary in Texas’ 38th Congressional District, praising the business executive as an “incredible Candidate” with support from prominent MAGA figures including Sen. Ted Cruz, Reps. Ronny Jackson, Brandon Gill, Jim Jordan, and Tim Burchett.
Trump highlighted Bonck’s experience as a business executive and his commitment to “America First Policies,” including creating jobs, cutting taxes and regulations, promoting U.S. manufacturing, ensuring energy dominance, and protecting constitutional rights. He emphasized that Bonck would prioritize border security, stop migrant crime, strengthen military and veteran support, safeguard elections, and defend the Second Amendment.
Bonck is one of ten Republican candidates vying for the seat vacated by Hunt, whose run for U.S. Senate against incumbent Sen. John Cornyn and Attorney General Ken Paxton has opened the contest. Other contenders include businesswoman Shelly deZevallos, businessman Larry Rubin, and Tomball ISD President Michael Pratt.
The district remains heavily Republican after redistricting, with a partisan index of R-65% according to The Texan. Early voting for the March 3 primary runs from February 17 to 27, and Trump urged supporters to participate, providing a voting location resource to help constituents.
Trump’s backing gives Bonck immediate momentum, positioning him as a leading America First candidate with the support of key conservative leaders ahead of the March primary.
