The RNC raised $16.4 million in January and spent $9.6 million, marking a slower pace than previous midterm cycles. RNC Chair Joe Gruters described the haul as the start of a “war chest” to protect Republican majorities in the House and Senate.
If the reported $101.9 million cash on hand holds, it would set a new high for the committee at the start of a midterm year, nearly doubling the $51.7 million reported at the same point in 2022 and far exceeding January cash levels in 2018 and 2014. The party ended 2025 with just over $95 million on hand and no debt.
Gruters credited President Donald Trump and RNC finance chair Vice President JD Vance for driving the fundraising push. He acknowledged that Democrats may attempt to close the gap later in the year, but said Republicans plan to continue raising funds for targeted investments.
Outside national committees, pro-Trump super PAC MAGA Inc. reported more than $304 million in cash as of Dec. 31, 2025. By comparison, the Democratic National Committee reported roughly $14 million on hand and $17.5 million in debt, highlighting a significant Republican advantage heading into 2026.
