Steak ’n Shake introduced a limited-time “Patriot Milkshake” nationwide this week, featuring vanilla ice cream blended with birthday cake, topped with whipped cream, patriotic sprinkles, and a dark chocolate Statue of Liberty figure. The company said the shake will be priced at $2.50 through the end of 2026 as part of a promotion tied to the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.
Social media responses have been overwhelmingly positive, with many customers expressing excitement and some even traveling to try the shake, while others noted the lack of nearby Steak ’n Shake locations.
The launch comes alongside other recent changes by the chain, including the introduction of tater tots cooked in beef tallow and the removal of microwaves from its kitchens, part of an effort to emphasize quality and traditional cooking methods. The company has also rolled out new employee perks, including a bitcoin bonus of 21 cents per hour for hourly workers and a $1,000 contribution to Trump Accounts supporting employees’ children.
With the Patriot Milkshake, Steak ’n Shake is leaning into a mix of nostalgia, patriotism, and affordability, creating a promotion that highlights its American roots while reinforcing its focus on both customers and employees.
