Authorities in Pima County launched a SWAT operation Friday near the neighborhood of Nancy Guthrie as the investigation into her disappearance intensifies.

SWAT officers converged on a residence approximately 1.9 miles from Guthrie’s home and ordered two individuals inside to exit the property. Both complied with commands, and law enforcement officers are now actively searching the home.

The two individuals who exited the residence appeared to be a man and a woman. Officials have not publicly identified them or disclosed whether any arrests have been made.

The area has been blocked off around the residence.

The operation comes after authorities earlier this week detained the wrong individual in connection with the case, an incident that drew scrutiny as investigators work to locate Guthrie.

Law enforcement has not yet released further details about the nature of the search warrant or what prompted Friday’s tactical response.

This is a developing story, and updates are expected as officials provide additional information.
