President Donald Trump used his State of the Union speech to outline what he called significant improvements in border security, drug interdiction, and violent crime reduction.
“In the past nine months, ZERO illegal aliens have been admitted to the United States,” Trump said, attributing the figure to stepped-up enforcement measures at the southern border. The administration has emphasized expanded removals, tightened asylum procedures, and increased coordination between federal and state authorities.
President Trump also stated that the flow of fentanyl entering the country has dropped by 56%, describing it as a record decline. Federal officials have tied anti-fentanyl efforts to enhanced border inspections, expanded seizures by Customs and Border Protection, and tougher penalties targeting trafficking networks.
On crime, Trump said the national murder rate experienced its largest single-year decline in recorded history, reaching the lowest level in more than 125 years. He framed the decrease as part of a broader public safety agenda focused on law enforcement support and stricter immigration controls.
The remarks were delivered during the State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress, where Republican lawmakers rose in applause and cheered as the president cited the border, drug enforcement, and crime statistics.
