The Denver Broncos defeated the Seattle Seahawks 17-14 in overtime Thursday night, October 15, overcoming a late Seattle comeback to earn one of their biggest victories of the season. Denver improved to 4-2, while the Seahawks fell to 3-3 after suffering their second consecutive loss.

The Broncos built a 14-3 halftime lead behind two rushing touchdowns. Running back J.K. Dobbins opened Denver's scoring with a four-yard touchdown run to cap a 16-play, 74-yard drive. Rookie running back RJ Harvey added a one-yard touchdown on a direct snap later in the second quarter, finishing a nine-play, 79-yard possession.

Denver's offense struggled to build on that advantage after halftime, but the defense kept the defending champions in check for much of the second half. Seattle finally broke through in the fourth quarter when George Holani scored on a one-yard run. Sam Darnold connected with Rashid Shaheed on the two-point conversion, cutting Denver's lead to 14-11 with 5:41 remaining.

The Broncos appeared poised to finish the game in regulation when Kris Abrams-Draine intercepted Darnold with 1:25 left. However, Denver failed to capitalize on the turnover, going three-and-out and giving Seattle another opportunity.

A 31-yard punt return by Shaheed helped set up the Seahawks at their own 46-yard line. Darnold moved Seattle into field-goal range, and Jason Myers connected from 34 yards with three seconds remaining to force overtime.

Denver finally delivered the decisive play in the extra period. Cornerback Ja'Quan McMillian intercepted Darnold at Seattle's 43-yard line, giving the Broncos possession in favorable field position. Four plays later, kicker Wil Lutz drilled a 53-yard field goal with 4:53 remaining in overtime to seal the 17-14 victory.

Denver's defense recorded five sacks and 17 quarterback hits while forcing three turnovers, making the difference despite the offense's limited production. Quarterback Bo Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for 107 yards without a touchdown or interception. Dobbins led the Broncos with 41 rushing yards on 17 carries, while Harvey contributed three receptions for 31 yards.

Seattle generated more offense but could not convert that advantage into a win. Darnold completed 27 of 51 passes for 278 yards, throwing two interceptions and no touchdowns. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught 12 passes for 134 yards, while Emanuel Wilson rushed for 52 yards.

The Broncos finished with just 168 yards of total offense and punted on all six of their second-half possessions before overtime. Their defense nevertheless kept Denver in the game long enough for McMillian's interception and Lutz's winning kick to deliver the victory over the reigning Super Bowl champions.
