Hunter Biden indicated during a radio interview Sunday that he could consider running for president in 2028 if he receives an endorsement from host John Catsimatidis.

Appearing on Catsimatidis' WABC show "Cats Roundtable," Biden responded to a question about presidential plans by saying, "If I get your endorsement, I may have to." The remark came amid ongoing speculation about potential Democratic candidates for the 2028 nomination.

Biden framed his potential interest around adherence to the rule of law. "Here is my qualification for becoming president, if you believe in the Constitution of the United States of America that you swear to uphold and protect," he said. "I want the next president to commit to one thing: to adhere to the rule of law."

He also highlighted concern for Americans struggling with addiction, noting the issue as one he cares most about. Biden stopped short of any firm commitment, stating that Democrats have an "incredible bench" of potential candidates. He expressed personal admiration for California Gov. Gavin Newsom while listing other figures such as Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker.

The comments mark a shift from earlier statements in which Biden had dismissed the idea of a presidential run. In an August interview with Bill Maher, he said he had not thought about running and suggested that announcing a candidacy would prompt scrutiny of his past struggles with addiction.
