Casey Wasserman, the chairman of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and head of the Wasserman Group, has disclosed that he is in the process of selling his talent agency, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
Wasserman’s decision comes amid scrutiny after his name appeared in documents connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In an internal message to employees, Wasserman described himself as a “distraction” to the agency and said he would step back to focus on his Olympic responsibilities.
Recent emails made public by the Justice Department included suggestive exchanges between Wasserman and Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence on sex trafficking charges. Maxwell has invoked her Fifth Amendment rights in a congressional deposition and has reportedly appealed to the Trump administration to dismiss her charges.
The move signals Wasserman’s effort to distance himself from ongoing controversy while maintaining his role in overseeing preparations for the 2028 Games.
