Tyler Boebert, the 21-year-old son of U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, was arrested Sunday in Garfield County, Colorado, on three felony charges of sexual exploitation of a child.
Garfield County Sheriff's Office officials confirmed the arrest on an active warrant. Court records show the charges stem from a 43-second video recorded when Tyler Boebert was 18 and involved a 17-year-old girl. The charges include counts related to enticing or inducing a child, possession with intent, and distribution of the material.
Tyler Boebert was released from the Garfield County jail later on Sunday after booking. The sheriff's office made the arrest details public on Monday.
The incident adds to prior legal issues involving Tyler Boebert, including earlier citations and charges unrelated to this case. Rep. Boebert has not issued a public statement on the latest arrest as of Monday evening.
Garfield County authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
