Tyler Reddick captured the Freeway Insurance 500 at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday, October 18, driving his No. 45 Toyota for 23XI Racing to a victory over Ryan Blaney by 0.801 seconds. The win marked Reddick’s 14th career NASCAR Cup Series victory and his first at the one-mile Arizona track.

Reddick made his decisive move following a late restart, using a daring four-wide pass to surge past Chase Briscoe with 18 laps remaining. His team had opted for a two-tire stop during the final pit sequence, giving Reddick the track position he needed to take control of the race and pull away from the competition.

Blaney, who started from the pole, finished second, while Chase Elliott placed third. Christopher Bell finished fourth, and Corey Heim rounded out the top five. Briscoe, who had been battling for the lead, fell back to eighth after the restart.

Reddick’s victory was especially significant after a difficult stretch following his strong start to the season. He won five of the first nine races but had gone 23 races without a victory before returning to Victory Lane at Phoenix.

“This group never lost its motivation or its drive,” Reddick said after the race, crediting his team for continuing to work toward improvements during the winless stretch.

The race also reshaped the championship picture. Kyle Larson, who entered the event leading the standings, crashed late and finished 34th. Bell moved within five points of Larson, while Reddick’s victory put him 56 points behind the leader with three races left in the postseason.

With the championship fight tightening, NASCAR heads to Talladega Superspeedway next Sunday for the YellaWood 500. Reddick’s Phoenix win gives him renewed momentum as the Cup Series season approaches its decisive final stretch
