South Carolina defeated No. 11 Tennessee 27-24 on Saturday, October 24, rallying from a second-quarter collapse to secure the win at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.

Quarterback LaNorris Sellers led the Gamecocks offensively, completing 18 of 32 passes for 210 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 96 yards and two additional scores. Wide receiver Mazeo Bennett Jr. contributed six receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown, giving Sellers a reliable target in the passing game.

South Carolina came out firing, building a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Sellers opened the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Bennett Jr. before breaking free for a 31-yard rushing touchdown just under two minutes later. The Gamecocks capitalized on their early momentum to put Tennessee on its heels.

The Volunteers responded with a dominant second quarter, scoring 21 unanswered points to take a 21-17 halftime lead. Running back DeSean Bishop powered Tennessee's rushing attack, finishing with 32 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown. Tennessee's ground game helped the Volunteers overcome their early deficit and take control of the contest.

South Carolina struggled to regain the lead in the third quarter as both defenses kept the opposing offenses off the scoreboard. Tennessee eventually added a fourth-quarter field goal to extend its advantage to 24-17, leaving the Gamecocks needing a touchdown to draw even.

Sellers delivered when South Carolina needed him most. The quarterback found the end zone on a four-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game at 24-24, completing his second rushing score of the afternoon. The Gamecocks then relied on their defense and special teams to finish the comeback.

Kicker Malik Orsan sealed the victory with a 48-yard field goal, giving South Carolina the decisive 27-24 lead. The kick capped a comeback against a Tennessee team that had entered the matchup ranked No. 11 nationally.

Tennessee quarterback George MacIntyre completed 16 of 23 passes for 136 yards, while wide receiver Braylon Staley led the Volunteers with six catches for 56 yards. Despite Tennessee's second-quarter surge and strong rushing performance, the Volunteers could not hold off South Carolina's late rally.

The victory gave South Carolina a significant conference win and a boost after a difficult stretch of the season. For Tennessee, the three-point loss marked a disappointing result after entering the game with a top-15 national ranking.

Sellers' all-around performance proved decisive, as he accounted for 306 total yards and three touchdowns. His ability to hurt Tennessee both through the air and on the ground helped the Gamecocks recover from surrendering their early lead and finish with a dramatic home victory.
