President Donald Trump is preparing to make himself a central figure in Republican campaigns across the country, telling supporters Wednesday that he plans to personally campaign in states where Republicans are facing important congressional races in the November midterms.

“I’m going to go to every one of those states for congressmen and for senators,” Trump said. “I’m going to do that. And we’re going to have rallies. And we’re going to have rallies just like this. We’re going to have big arenas loaded up with people.”

Trump added that the Republican Senate candidates are “great people” and said he intends to campaign alongside them as Republicans work to maintain congressional support for his administration.

The comments came during the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, where Trump has been placed at the center of the party’s campaign effort ahead of the November 3 elections. The two-day gathering is the first national Republican convention specifically organized around a midterm election and has featured Republican candidates, lawmakers and administration officials.

Trump has already identified a group of competitive races where he intends to become directly involved. Earlier this month, he outlined plans to spend the final 30 days before the election campaigning in targeted House and Senate contests, including races in which Republican candidates are narrowly ahead, tied or behind. He also discussed holding multiple tele-town halls in a single night.

The president has increasingly presented the 2026 elections as a referendum on his administration and has urged voters to treat the midterms as if he himself were on the ballot. He told supporters that maintaining congressional support would be necessary to continue advancing his agenda.

Trump’s planned rallies could put him directly alongside Republican candidates in some of the most closely watched contests of the election. Among the Senate races receiving significant attention are contests in Texas, Alaska and Ohio, while numerous House races are also expected to draw presidential involvement.

The strategy represents a significant personal investment by Trump in the midterm campaign. Rather than limiting his involvement to endorsements and fundraising, he is promising to travel to competitive states and use large-scale rallies to campaign directly for Republican candidates.
