President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that his political operation has spent or will spend more than $400 million to support Republican candidates ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
In a Truth Social post, Trump stated that more than $300 million has already gone toward advertising, direct and indirect voter contact, rallies, get-out-the-vote programs, election integrity efforts, and related activities. He described the midterms as the most important in the country's history and expressed pride in backing the Republican Party for restoring national strength.
"It is my Great Honor to do so on behalf of the Republican Party, which has done so much to bring our Country back from the Edge of Oblivion," Trump wrote.
The pledge aligns with spending by Trump-aligned super PACs such as MAGA Inc. and No Going Back PAC, which have already directed at least $226 million into the cycle according to campaign filings. Republicans hold a significant fundraising edge overall, with major GOP groups reporting roughly $1 billion in cash on hand compared to about $579 million for Democratic counterparts as of late summer.
The announcement comes as political ad spending surges, with Republicans reserving or spending approximately $2.2 billion since September 1 versus $1.8 billion by Democrats. Trump's move contrasts with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's reported $80 million commitment to Democratic candidates and causes in the same period.
Trump's super PACs have focused resources on key Senate contests in states including Texas, Ohio, Michigan, and Alaska. The president has held recent rallies in multiple battleground areas to boost turnout and counter polling trends that favor Democratic gains in the House and potentially the Senate.
This level of direct involvement by a sitting president through aligned groups marks one of the largest personal political investments in a midterm cycle. Election Day remains two weeks away.
