President Donald Trump rallied Republican supporters Saturday at Truist Arena on the Northern Kentucky University campus in Highland Heights, Kentucky, campaigning for the GOP ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Trump endorsed Rep. Andy Barr in the race to fill Kentucky’s open U.S. Senate seat and backed Ed Gallrein in the 4th Congressional District. The Senate contest follows the retirement announcement of longtime Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell, setting up a high-profile race between Barr and Democrat Charles Booker.

During the rally, Trump promised that a Republican victory in the midterms would help secure a $100 million Department of Defense investment to revitalize a drug manufacturing facility in Winchester, Kentucky. The pledge tied the election to potential economic development and federal spending in the state.

The president also repeated his proposal to provide $5,000 checks to adults if Republicans maintain control of Congress, while attacking Democratic candidates and urging voters to treat the midterm elections as though he himself were on the ballot.

A protester was removed from the arena early in the program as Trump addressed the crowd.

The Kentucky appearance was part of Trump’s broader October campaign schedule across multiple states, as Republicans work to preserve their congressional majorities. The president has increasingly made the midterms a referendum on his administration’s agenda, urging voters to support Republican candidates who can help advance his priorities in Washington.
