President Donald Trump returned to his home state of New York on Friday night to rally support for Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman in his bid to unseat Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul.

Speaking to thousands of supporters at the Oncenter convention center in Syracuse, Trump highlighted his administration's economic and immigration policies while criticizing Hochul's record on taxes, energy costs, and public safety. He pledged direct assistance from the White House to help Blakeman turn the state around if elected in November's midterms.

"[Blakeman will] save this state. He'll turn the state around and I'll help him from the White House," Trump said. "I'll be helping him for governor."

Trump urged the crowd to treat the race as if he were on the ballot himself, warning that Democrats could undo gains from his agenda. He pointed to high utility bills and taxes under Hochul, promising that Blakeman would cut energy costs dramatically by embracing domestic production and reducing burdens on families.

Blakeman joined Trump onstage and echoed the call for lower taxes, job creation, and improved public safety to retain young residents and attract businesses. The candidate stressed viewing business as a partner rather than an adversary.

Trump also backed Republican congressional hopefuls Kailee Buller in the 22nd District and Anthony Constantino in the 21st District. The event featured a brief appearance by former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, who accompanied the president.

The rally drew large crowds of supporters from across the state and beyond, underscoring enthusiasm for Republican candidates ahead of the midterms. Protesters gathered outside as well, but the focus remained on energizing the GOP base in a state long dominated by Democrats.

With the November elections approaching, Trump's visit highlighted efforts to flip New York red by tying state races to national priorities on affordability and security.
