A single ticket sold in Illinois claimed the $1.040 billion Powerball jackpot from the drawing held Wednesday night.

The winning numbers were 4, 26, 66, 67, 69, and the red Powerball 9. The ticket was purchased at a Hy-Vee gas station located at 310 N. 36th St. in Quincy, on the Illinois-Missouri border.

This marks the eighth-largest jackpot in Powerball history. The prize offers an annuity option of $1.040 billion paid over 30 graduated payments spanning 29 years or a lump-sum cash value estimated at $450.5 million. Both amounts are before taxes.

The winner has not been identified publicly and can remain anonymous under Illinois lottery rules. Officials confirmed the ticket matched all six numbers drawn.

Powerball drawings occur three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The next drawing is scheduled for Saturday, August 15.

The jackpot had grown significantly in recent weeks before Wednesday's drawing reset it. This victory represents the largest grand prize awarded so far in 2026.
