Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spent the past week traveling through the heartland to support Republican candidates ahead of the 2026 midterms.

Kennedy joined GOP gubernatorial hopefuls and House contenders in key districts, highlighting issues tied to his Make America Healthy Again initiative. In Iowa, he fished for bream with the Republican candidate for governor and discussed threats to children's health. He also touted fitness initiatives alongside an embattled Republican House member in a Des Moines suburb.

The secretary praised local responses to a hantavirus outbreak while appearing in a competitive Omaha-area district in Nebraska. He additionally recorded a podcast with actor Lou Ferrigno, known for playing the Incredible Hulk.

Kennedy's appearances form part of broader efforts by the Trump administration to leverage the MAHA platform in competitive races. The former independent presidential candidate, who endorsed Donald Trump in 2024 and now serves in the Cabinet, has crisscrossed battleground areas to connect with voters on food safety, vaccines, and pesticides.

These stops come as Republicans seek to maintain congressional majorities in November. Kennedy's involvement reflects the administration's strategy of deploying high-profile allies to energize the base on health and wellness topics.
