Russian strikes killed 14 people across Ukraine on Monday, with nearly 60 others injured, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said.

Klymenko detailed the attacks in a Telegram post, noting that Russian forces conducted more than 70 shellings across seven regions. The town of Merefa in the Kharkiv region suffered the heaviest losses, where a missile strike claimed seven lives. Fourteen people remained hospitalized there with injuries.

In Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia region, a strike hit the grounds of a church and killed two parishioners. Russian forces also targeted energy infrastructure in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Chernihiv regions. The minister described the strikes as a deliberate tactic to terrorize civilians.

Earlier that day, Russia launched one ballistic missile and 88 drones of various types against Ukraine. Among the targets were five facilities of Ukraine's state energy company Naftogaz in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, halting production processes and complicating preparations for winter.

Ukrainian emergency services, rescuers, and police responded immediately to the sites. They evacuated the wounded, provided first aid, extinguished fires, cleared rubble, and documented the damage for investigation.

The attacks occurred amid ongoing Russian aggression that has persisted since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022. Monday's barrage added to a pattern of strikes on civilian areas and critical infrastructure, drawing international condemnation but no immediate new responses reported as of Wednesday.
