Thomas Elliott Field was taken into custody Sunday evening after Forsyth County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a home on Collins Point Road at approximately 7:30 p.m. following a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident.

When deputies arrived, they found 81-year-old Deborah Field suffering from multiple injuries. Deputies immediately began providing emergency medical assistance, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

Thomas Elliott Field, who was at the residence when deputies arrived, was detained and later charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. He remains in custody at the Forsyth County Jail without bond.

Detectives with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit and members of the Crime Scene Unit responded to the residence and began investigating the circumstances surrounding Deborah Field's death.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the confrontation or the specific injuries that caused her death.

The sheriff's office said investigators believe the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation remains active, and authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Major Crimes Unit.

Field is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday, according to local reports. The charges are allegations, and the case remains pending in court.
