Democrat Representative Al Green, of Texas' 9th congressional district, is again seeking to impeach President Donald Trump, telling colleagues he intends to force a House vote this week over the administration’s immigration enforcement policies.

Green has repeatedly pursued impeachment against Trump, including multiple attempts during the president’s first term. His latest resolution centers on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations and arrives as the House returns to legislative work.

The Democrat plans to use procedural maneuvers available to individual members to bring the measure to the floor over the objections of Republican leadership. The effort faces near-certain defeat without support from the Republican majority that controls the chamber.

Green has turned impeachment into a recurring feature of his congressional career, introducing resolutions targeting Trump’s conduct and policies on multiple occasions. None of those prior efforts succeeded.

The new push comes amid deep partisan division over ICE and the Trump administration’s immigration agenda. Republicans have defended the agency’s work as straightforward enforcement of federal law, while Democrats have attacked specific tactics. Green's impeachment plan comes just days after the Democrat demanded ICE resume delivering hormones to transgender illegal immigrants in their detention facilities, a policy that was halted under the Trump Administration's ongoing initiative to crackdown of taxpayer-funded benefits for illegals.

Green has not set a precise time for the vote beyond stating he will pursue it this week. If the measure reaches the floor, it will give members another chance to cast a formal ballot on impeachment in a Republican-led House that has shown no interest in advancing such resolutions.

Rep. Green was defeated in his primary runoff election last May following state redistricting. He will leave office in January of next year.
