Eric Bauza, the Emmy Award-winning voice actor known for portraying Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and other beloved animated characters, has died suddenly at age 46, his family announced Sunday.
The Canadian-born performer spent more than two decades in animation, becoming one of the leading voices behind the modern Looney Tunes franchise. His family announced his death in a statement posted to his official Instagram account, saying further details would be released later. The cause of death has not been publicly announced.
Bauza voiced numerous iconic Looney Tunes characters, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Marvin the Martian, and Elmer Fudd. He also portrayed Woody Woodpecker and took on roles in productions such as The Adventures of Puss in Boots and Muppet Babies.
His work earned him three Children’s and Family Emmy Awards. He won in 2022 for Looney Tunes Cartoons, in 2023 for Bugs Bunny Builders, and in 2025 for his work on Teen Titans Go!
Bauza was also among the performers involved in Coyote vs. Acme, the Looney Tunes film that was shelved by Warner Bros. before later finding a path to release. The project brought renewed attention to the franchise and the artists behind its enduring characters.
His death marks a loss for the animation industry and the many viewers who grew up with the characters he helped bring to life. While generations of fans may recognize the voices without knowing the performer behind them, Bauza’s work helped carry some of animation’s most familiar characters to new audiences.
