Dallas appeared to be in serious trouble after managing just 121 yards in the first half, but the Cowboys exploded offensively after halftime and turned a tight Texas rivalry game into a dramatic finish.
Dak Prescott led the comeback, completing 32 of 45 passes for 335 yards and a touchdown. His biggest throw came with less than a minute remaining, when he found Lamb for a 12-yard touchdown that put Dallas ahead 34-30.
Lamb delivered one of the best performances of his career, catching 17 passes for 189 yards and the decisive score. George Pickens also made two big catches for 75 yards, including a 53-yard reception.
Dallas also received a strong performance from running back Javonte Williams, who scored three rushing touchdowns on 19 carries. His final touchdown gave the Cowboys a 27-23 lead early in the fourth quarter before Houston answered.
The Texans regained the lead with just over two minutes remaining when Woody Marks scored on a 6-yard run, putting Houston ahead 30-27. But Prescott and the Cowboys quickly responded, marching down the field for the winning touchdown.
Houston had one final opportunity, but C.J. Stroud could not complete a last-second Hail Mary. Stroud finished with 347 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Nico Collins caught seven passes for 118 yards and both of Houston’s receiving touchdowns.
The victory moves Dallas to 2-2 on the season, while Houston falls to 0-4.
