The Indiana Fever defeated the Minnesota Lynx 96-77 on Tuesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, using a dominant first half to build a large lead before pulling away again in the fourth quarter. The victory improved Indiana to 28-15 and kept the Fever's hopes of securing the No. 4 seed and first-round home-court advantage alive.

Caitlin Clark led Indiana with 27 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, while Kelsey Mitchell added 20 points. Mitchell also extended her WNBA record to 27 consecutive games with at least 20 points. Aliyah Boston contributed 17 points and seven rebounds.

Sophie Cunningham also provided a strong contribution off the bench, finishing with 11 points, two rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes. Cunningham shot 4-of-7 from the field and connected on 3-of-6 attempts from three-point range. She also finished with a team-best plus-17 rating.

Indiana took control immediately, closing the first quarter on a 14-2 run to take a 31-16 advantage. The Fever continued building the lead in the second quarter and went into halftime ahead 57-34 after at one point leading by 29.

Minnesota mounted a comeback after halftime, cutting the deficit to seven points late in the third quarter as the Lynx's reserves took advantage of Indiana's slower stretch. The Fever responded in the fourth, with Clark, Mitchell and Boston helping push the lead back out and secure the victory.

The Lynx entered the game with a 32-10 record and were seeking to clinch the WNBA's No. 1 seed. Indiana's win prevented that from happening Tuesday and gave the Fever another opportunity to secure home-court advantage when the teams meet Thursday again in Minnesota to close the regular season.
