Former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News as an on-air contributor after leaving the Trump administration earlier this year to spend more time with her family.

Fox News announced Monday that Leavitt, 29, will begin her new role Nov. 1 and appear across the network’s news and opinion programming.

Leavitt served as President Donald Trump’s White House press secretary from his inauguration until her departure in August. She became one of the administration’s most prominent public defenders while regularly sparring with reporters during White House briefings.

Leavitt announced her departure after the birth of her second child, saying the demands of the press secretary position made it difficult to give her two young children the time and attention she believed they deserved. She now lives with her family in New Hampshire.

Trump praised Leavitt when her departure was announced, describing her as one of his “most trusted aides” and saying she would remain an important outside adviser and influential voice within the Republican Party.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said Leavitt’s experience on the presidential campaign trail and inside the White House gives her a distinctive perspective on current political events. Leavitt said she was grateful to join the network and continue appearing on Fox News as an official member of its team.

Leavitt becomes the second former Trump White House press secretary to join Fox News, following Kayleigh McEnany, who became a contributor after leaving the administration in 2021.
