A new poll of likely Republican voters in Oklahoma's gubernatorial primary shows businessman and former state official Mike Mazzei holding a narrow lead in a crowded race for the GOP nomination.
The survey, conducted by NocDoc among 450 likely Republican primary voters, found Mazzei receiving 22.1 percent support. He was followed closely by Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond at 21.7 percent, Chip Keating at 21.4 percent, and former Oklahoma House Speaker Charles McCall at 18.7 percent. Other candidates combined for 16.1 percent of the vote.
The results indicate a highly competitive contest, with less than four percentage points separating the top four candidates. No candidate currently appears close to securing a dominant position in the race, highlighting the fragmented nature of the Republican field.
Mazzei's first-place showing marks a notable development as the campaign enters a more intense phase. Meanwhile, Drummond's standing has come under increased scrutiny following a wave of campaign advertising from opponents. Some advertisements have criticized the attorney general's political record and portrayed him as insufficiently aligned with conservative priorities, accusations that have become a focal point in the race.
Keating and McCall also remain within striking distance, suggesting the nomination battle remains wide open. With multiple candidates attracting significant support, future polling and campaign developments could have a major impact on the outcome.
The governor's race is expected to be one of Oklahoma's most closely watched Republican primaries. As candidates continue to campaign across the state, voters will weigh competing visions for Oklahoma's future while deciding who will carry the Republican banner into the general election.
The NocDoc poll provides a snapshot of current voter sentiment, but with a substantial share of voters supporting candidates outside the top four or still potentially undecided, the race remains fluid. Additional surveys in the coming months will help determine whether Mazzei can maintain his lead or whether another candidate can emerge as the frontrunner ahead of the primary.
