Taylor Swift made history at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night, becoming the most-awarded artist in the ceremony’s history while receiving a new honor for her work behind the camera.

Swift entered the ceremony tied with Beyoncé at 30 VMA wins. Her latest recognition pushed her past Beyoncé and gave her sole possession of the record for the most wins in the award show’s history.

The milestone came as Swift received the inaugural Artist Director Honors, an award recognizing artists whose work behind the camera has helped expand music videos and visual storytelling.

Swift has increasingly taken on a larger role in directing and shaping her own music videos. She said she has worked on roughly 60 music videos throughout her career, including 18 she wrote or directed herself.

Her night continued with another major award. Swift won Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia,” a song from her album “The Life of a Showgirl.” She dedicated the award to the late Dolly Parton.

Swift also premiered the music video for “Patient Zero” during the ceremony. The video stars Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson and was directed by Swift.

The ceremony was held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, where Swift’s record-breaking night added another milestone to her long list of VMA accomplishments.
