President Donald Trump announced Friday that Russia will supply millions of tons of diesel fuel to the American and global markets following what he described as a successful discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump outlined a series of planned deliveries that he said would increase fuel supplies and help bring down diesel prices. The announcement comes as energy costs remain a major concern for industries that depend on diesel, particularly agriculture, trucking and freight transportation.

“I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin of Russia,” Trump wrote, before announcing that Russia would immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the American and global marketplace.

Trump said another 500,000 tons would arrive during November, followed by an additional 1 million tons immediately afterward. He also announced plans for Russia to deliver another 3 million tons within a short period, depending on the condition of its diesel refineries.

Trump predicted the additional supplies would help drive down prices rapidly, pointing to what he described as American control of the Strait of Hormuz alongside the Russian energy announcement.

“Diesel Prices for Americans and, indeed, the World, will be COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST!” Trump declared.

Trump specifically highlighted the potential benefits for farmers, ranchers, and truckers, who rely heavily on diesel-powered equipment and transportation. Higher fuel costs can increase the expense of planting and harvesting crops, moving livestock, delivering goods, and transporting products across the country.

“Lower prices for Americans, especially our Great Farmers, Ranchers, and Truckers, is my Greatest Priority,” Trump wrote, describing the announcement as a major development.

The proposed deliveries would add to global diesel supplies, although the actual effect on U.S. prices would depend on the timing of shipments, market conditions, transportation costs, and the ability to direct the fuel to buyers. The White House and Russian government had not independently provided further details in the announcement presented by Trump.

Trump also reiterated his position on Iran's nuclear ambitions, declaring that “Iran will not have a Nuclear Weapon!”

The announcement links the administration's energy priorities with its broader efforts to address tensions involving Iran and the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, a major route for global oil shipments.

If the deliveries proceed on the schedule Trump outlined, the additional fuel could provide a significant boost to available diesel supplies. The president said he expects the move to bring relief to American businesses and consumers through lower energy costs.
