Apple unveiled its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, on Wednesday, marking the company’s entry into the growing foldable phone market and introducing a major change to the traditional iPhone design.

The iPhone Duo will be available with up to 2TB of storage, with the highest-capacity model priced at $3,199. That makes it the most expensive iPhone Apple has ever offered, placing the top-end model firmly in the premium segment of the smartphone market.

When unfolded, the iPhone Duo is the thinnest iPhone Apple has produced. Its display is also 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, giving users considerably more screen space when the device is opened.

The foldable design allows the phone to provide a larger display while still being able to close into a more compact form. The move puts Apple into direct competition with other major smartphone manufacturers that have already introduced foldable devices.

Apple is also emphasizing storage with the new model. The 2TB configuration gives users substantially more space for photos, videos, applications, and other files, but comes with the highest price in the iPhone lineup.

The iPhone Duo represents a significant expansion of Apple’s flagship smartphone offerings as the company combines its foldable design with a larger display, ultra-thin construction and expanded storage options.
