Eric Trump shared the new official logo for Palm Beach International Airport on social media Tuesday, ahead of its renaming to President Donald J. Trump International Airport.
The all-gold design features an eagle clutching two olive branches and a crest shield adorned with stars and stripes, reminiscent of the presidential seal. Twelve gold stars surround the text 'President Donald J. Trump International Airport.' Trump Organization recommended the logo, which Palm Beach County commissioners approved in a 4-3 vote.
"For the first time, I am extremely proud to share the OFFICIAL logo for the Donald J. Trump International Airport in Palm Beach, Florida," Eric Trump wrote on X. "There is no person more deserving of this incredible honor than @realDonaldTrump! Congratulations Dad! Looking forward to seeing flights landing at ‘DJT’ very, very soon!"
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed House Bill 919 on March 30, mandating the name change in recognition of President Trump's contributions. The renaming takes effect July 1, though the airport's IATA code will remain PBI. The facility, located four miles from Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, has long served his travel needs, including Air Force One during his presidency.
Commissioners also greenlit a trademark agreement with Trump and his intellectual property company to protect the brand, ensuring no profits from airport merchandise. Trump recently addressed local business leaders, pledging major upgrades to make the airport unmatched.
Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) introduced federal legislation in March to update the code to DJT, but the bill remains in committee. A local pilot has sued over the renaming, citing concerns amid prior debates.
The announcement drew quick support from Trump allies and sparked gains in Trump-themed cryptocurrencies. Critics, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom's office, dismissed it as vanity, but backers hailed it as a fitting tribute to Trump's legacy in Florida.
