Good Good Golf announced leadership changes on Wednesday, with CEO Matt Kendrick stepping down and president Joe Flannery parting ways with the company.

An internal memo signed by Alex Puchala, who oversees finance and operations, stated that the departures were effective immediately. Nahid Giga, a co-founder and early investor, was named interim CEO to ensure stability during the transition.

The memo praised Kendrick for building the company from a small group of friends playing golf into a global community that has brought new fans to the sport. It noted that the creator team, including co-founder Garrett Clark, would continue producing content.

The changes come after weeks of controversy that began on August 21 when Good Good posted an advertisement for a co-branded Callaway driver. The video showed Clark shoving a female employee to the ground, drawing widespread criticism for depicting violence against women.

Callaway ended its partnership with Good Good shortly after the backlash emerged. The golf equipment company also announced a $1 million donation to related causes. Good Good later stepped away from its sponsorship of a PGA Tour event scheduled for November in Austin, Texas.

Kendrick had publicly addressed the incident in statements and interviews, taking responsibility while also criticizing Callaway for approving the ad and then distancing itself. He said the company had removed individuals responsible for the marketing decision.

Puchala will continue in his role as COO and CFO, overseeing day-to-day operations. The memo expressed appreciation for support from the Good Good community and a focus on moving forward.

Good Good Golf operates as a prominent YouTube-based golf media and content company with additional lines in merchandise and equipment.
