Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning to relocate from the United States to Britain later this month.
Multiple outlets including the BBC, CNN, and The Telegraph reported the development on August 19. The couple intends to settle in a private, non-royal residence outside London. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have been enrolled in British schools for the upcoming term.
King Charles was informed of the move on Sunday. Reports indicate there are no current plans for Harry or Meghan to resume roles as working members of the royal family.
The announcement follows a private family reunion with the King last month and Harry's recent charity visits to the UK. Earlier reports had noted Harry's interest in spending more time in Britain, including a planned week-long trip in September for his WellChild patronage.
Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to California. The latest development marks a significant shift after six years abroad.
