President Donald Trump issued a direct warning on Wednesday against nations and entities facilitating Iran's oil smuggling and other sanctions-evasion tactics.

In a Truth Social post, Trump declared that the United States would launch what he called the most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country. He specifically called out oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, and front companies, stating they all need to stop now and addressing those involved with the words "You know who you are."

Trump further warned that any country whose financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities provide any type of lifeline to Iran will face tremendous economic consequences of their own. The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the ongoing conflict with Iran.

Global crude oil prices rose more than 2 percent on Thursday following the remarks, reflecting market concerns over potential disruptions and stricter enforcement measures. The administration has pursued a campaign of maximum pressure on Iran, including through Operation Economic Fury.

Trump's comments signal an intent to target secondary sanctions on buyers of Iranian oil and related networks, building on prior efforts to isolate the regime economically. No specific countries were named in the post, though analysts have pointed to nations like China that have historically purchased Iranian crude.

The development follows a period of fragile agreements and waivers on sanctions earlier in the year, with the administration now reemphasizing enforcement to prevent Iran from evading restrictions.
