Four people, including a 6-day-old baby and a 2-year-old child, were found dead from gunshot wounds in a suspected murder-suicide at a home in the 16200 block of Londelius Avenue in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening.
The victims were identified as Khajag Basmajian, 31, a software engineer at BlackLine; his son, Alec Basmajian, 2; his daughter, Ella Basmajian, who was just 6 days old; and their mother, a woman in her 30s whose name has not yet been released. Police said they are not seeking any additional suspects.
Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that evidence at the scene indicated the mother shot her husband and two children before turning the gun on herself. Officers responded to the residence around 8 p.m. following a report of a shooting.
Khajag Basmajian worked as a software engineer at the Los Angeles-area financial software company BlackLine. In a statement, the company said, “We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss. Our hearts are with everyone impacted by this devastating situation.”
The shocking incident has left a young family destroyed in what authorities are treating as a domestic murder-suicide. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet released final cause and manner of death determinations.
