Red Lobster brought back its popular Endless Shrimp promotion last week, marking the first return of the deal since it contributed to the chain's 2024 bankruptcy.
The promotion started on April 20 at participating locations for dine-in customers only and remains available for a limited time. It features five shrimp varieties, including a new Marry Me Shrimp in tomato cream sauce topped with garlic-herb crumble, Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, and Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp. Each round comes with a choice of sides.
Prices range from $24.99 to $29.99 per person, an increase from the $20 to $25 range during its previous run. The chain cited overwhelming fan demand on social media as the reason for the revival, with thousands of requests since its removal.
"This is about putting our guests first and bringing back something they truly love," said CEO Damola Adamolekun. "Endless Shrimp has been a part of Red Lobster’s legacy for 20 years, and our guests have never stopped asking for it. We’re excited to bring it back, for a limited time, in a way that works for our business today."
Adamolekun took over as CEO in late 2024 after Red Lobster emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy filed in May 2024. The filing followed heavy losses, including $11 million from Endless Shrimp in the third quarter of 2023 alone, part of a $76 million net loss that year. The promotion, initially a limited-time offer since 2004, became permanent in June 2023, but overwhelmed operations and supply chains.
The bankruptcy led to the closure of about 130 restaurants and liabilities between $1 billion and $10 billion. Thai Union Group, the former owner, exited amid the financial strain. Under new ownership, Red Lobster restructured and focused on recovery.
Unlike before, this version emphasizes limited availability to avoid past pitfalls, with no plans for it to become permanent. Early reports indicate strong guest interest, aligning with surging engagement at the chain.
