Saudi-led coalition forces carried out dozens of airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen on Wednesday, according to Houthi officials. The strikes targeted provinces including Taiz, Hodeida, Jawf, and Marib.

Houthi spokesman Nasruddin Amer stated that 32 airstrikes occurred overnight into Wednesday. Reports from Houthi media described additional strikes in areas such as Sirwah district in Marib. No immediate confirmation came from Saudi authorities, though the actions align with vows to respond to prior Houthi aggression.

The escalation follows Houthi attacks on Tuesday that struck southern Saudi cities including Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran. Those strikes hit energy facilities and other sites, wounding 73 people including women and children, Saudi officials reported. Fires broke out at some locations, leading to temporary halts in operations at facilities linked to Saudi Aramco.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree claimed the Tuesday attacks were retaliation for earlier Saudi strikes on Yemen. The renewed fighting has shattered a four-year truce in Yemen's civil war and comes amid broader regional tensions involving Iran-backed groups.

Saudi coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Malki described the Houthi actions as a dangerous escalation by a terrorist militia and pledged all necessary measures to deter further threats. Oil prices rose above $100 per barrel on Wednesday amid the instability.

Yemeni government forces, backed by Saudi Arabia, have also conducted operations against Houthi positions in recent days as part of efforts to counter the rebels. The conflict has displaced thousands and raised concerns over regional stability and energy supplies.
