United Airlines announced plans to add 10 new international destinations next year. The expansion marks the largest international growth in the Chicago-based company’s nearly 100-year history.

The airline will introduce nonstop service to Okinawa, Japan; Toulouse, France; Luxembourg City, Luxembourg; Marseille, France; Ibiza, Spain; Valencia, Spain; Terceira, Portugal; Ljubljana, Slovenia; Olbia on Sardinia, Italy; and Catania on Sicily, Italy. Most routes will originate from the Newark hub, with additional service from San Francisco to Okinawa and from Washington Dulles to Toulouse.

Flights are scheduled to begin as early as March 2027 and run through June. Eight of the new cities will have no nonstop service from any other U.S. airline. United will operate several of the European routes with its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft.

The announcement builds on United’s recent international growth, during which the carrier has added dozens of destinations since 2017. The company now serves more than 160 international cities worldwide.

Tickets for the new routes are already on sale. The expansion reflects United’s strategy to increase options for travelers seeking direct access to secondary European markets and select Asian destinations.

Industry observers expect the additions to enhance connectivity from United’s key East Coast and West Coast hubs. The move positions the airline for further growth in passenger traffic ahead of the summer 2027 travel season.
