Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is seriously considering another Republican presidential campaign in 2028, which would mark his third attempt to win the White House.
Christie discussed the possibility during a recent appearance at George Washington University, where moderator Frank Sesno asked him about his earlier comments that he was considering another campaign.
Sloppy Chris Christie compared himself to Ronald Reagan and said he's seriously considering a 2028 Republican presidential run:

“Look, I was in New Hampshire two weeks ago to give a speech on sports gambling. I said there I’m gonna look at it,” Christie said.
Sesno noted that a 2028 campaign would be Christie’s third presidential run. Christie responded by comparing himself to former President Ronald Reagan.
“True, just like Reagan,” Christie said.
The comparison drew laughter from the audience, prompting Sesno to ask, “You’re analogizing yourself to Reagan?”
Christie maintained that if he runs again, it would be because he believes circumstances could give him a route to victory.
“You don’t run a third time for the experience or the exercise,” Christie said. “And so if I decide to run a third time, it’s because I’ve seen what I think is a path that could lead to victory.”
Christie has already sought the Republican nomination twice, running in 2016 and again in 2024. Donald Trump won the Republican nomination in both cycles. Christie has since become one of Trump’s most outspoken Republican critics.
In the same discussion, Christie offered a negative assessment of Vice President JD Vance’s potential 2028 candidacy, arguing that Vance’s close association with Trump could become a significant liability for him. Christie said Vance would “reek with the stink of Donald Trump” and questioned whether Republicans would want to nominate someone so closely identified with the current president.
Christie has not announced a 2028 campaign and has said he wants to see how the 2026 midterm elections unfold before making a final decision. He has nevertheless repeatedly acknowledged that he is considering another run, including during a September visit to New Hampshire.
For now, Christie remains a potential candidate rather than a declared one, with his latest comments keeping open the possibility of another Republican presidential bid.
