Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has spent its 22nd week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, tying Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for the longest run at the top of the chart in its history.

The milestone puts Langley’s country hit alongside Carey’s holiday classic at the top of Billboard’s record book. “Choosin’ Texas” first reached No. 1 in February and has returned to the top spot multiple times, accumulating 22 weeks at No. 1 across 31 weeks.

Langley’s achievement is particularly notable because “Choosin’ Texas” is not a seasonal song. The track previously surpassed “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X and “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey to become the longest-running No. 1 song on the Hot 100 for a non-holiday release.

The song’s success has also strengthened Langley’s position as one of country music’s leading crossover artists. “Choosin’ Texas” has maintained its chart performance through a combination of streaming, sales, and radio airplay, while her album “Dandelion” has also returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” released in 1994, accumulated its 22 weeks at No. 1 over multiple holiday seasons after first reaching the top of the Hot 100 in 2019. Langley’s latest chart milestone therefore places a contemporary country hit alongside one of the most enduring holiday songs in Billboard history.

Langley now has an opportunity to take the record outright. If “Choosin’ Texas” remains at No. 1 for another week, it would become the longest-running No. 1 song in Billboard Hot 100 history.
