Elon Musk’s fortune rose to roughly $1.04 trillion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, after SpaceX shares jumped 7.63% Monday to $171.09, their highest level since June. Tesla shares also gained, adding to the value of Musk’s holdings.

Forbes similarly estimated Musk’s net worth at about $1.046 trillion, up more than $30 billion from Friday’s close. The increase followed a strong rally in SpaceX shares and gains in Tesla after the electric vehicle company’s third-quarter deliveries exceeded analyst expectations.

Musk first became the world’s first trillionaire in June after SpaceX went public, briefly pushing his fortune as high as approximately $1.32 trillion. His wealth later fell below the trillion-dollar mark as SpaceX and Tesla shares declined.

The latest increase puts Musk well ahead of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who was estimated at roughly $371 billion, according to Forbes.

Musk’s wealth remains heavily tied to the market value of SpaceX and Tesla, meaning his estimated fortune can rise or fall by tens of billions of dollars in a single trading session.
